ABOUT SHAELI

Shaeli grew up just outside of Jackson Wyoming and graduated from Pepperdine University in the mid-pandemic winter of 2020. Shortly after graduating with her bachelors in Political Science, Shaeli married her husband, moved cross country to the California coast, and adopted the military spouse lifestyle.

Having drawn and sketched since before she could remember, Shaeli always loved art. During her husband’s multi-week trainings away, she turned to acrylic paints- a medium she was unfamiliar with, but eager to explore in this new chapter. She found inspiration for her canvases from the creatures she shared her rocky mountain home with for the first 20 years of her life, and her body of work developed as she refined her style to a dynamic, abstract realism.

The duality of Shaeli’s style reminds her of the sort of symmetry she finds in nature- the imperfectly stunning, naturally abstract, wildly serene, and ruggedly beautiful. Those harmonies continue to inspire her style through a mix of palette knife impasto, finer brush strokes, and charcoal accents.

As a military couple, the California coast has become “home for now” for Shaeli and her husband. Someday however, the couple hopes to find their own corner of wilderness to call home. Until then, there will always be plenty of canvases. “Until I get back to those untouched places and rugged wild things, this is how I return.”

Featured Works

Shaeli's art has been featured for a number of initiatives. She has had the opportunity to create auction pieces for two prominent non profit organizations- The Wild Horse Warriors of Sand Wash Basin, and the Special Operators Transition Foundation (SOTF). For the latter, her canvas Altera Missionem featuring a bald eagle, was displayed and auctioned at the National Museum of Wildlife Art to support transitioning US military personnel. The piece also went on to be featured as the cover of the 2021 SOTF Impact Report and on other marketing materials.

More recently, Shaeli also created the piece Mama, featuring a Corrientes cow, for merchandise reproduction at Rising M Cattle Company, a ranch located in Washington dedicated to non-GMO, hormone free, antibiotic free, and regeneratively raised Corrientes beef.

Shaeli's work has also been featured at the Las Laguna Online Gallery and Elevated Living Jackson Hole.
